Editing Diary

2-3^rd  November 2011:

Today we are editing the footage of the interview with Charlie from the Entertainer and also the cutaways of the different toys that she talked about including lego, nerf guns and dolls. We captured the footage on Adobe Premier and edited the shots together to make it flow as one piece. One problem with the interview was that she didn’t answer the questions in full sentences so we had to edit the footage so it made sense all together.

4^th November 2011:

Today we are editing the footage of Luke gaming and also the interview. We will take footage of him gaming and use them as cutaways throughout the interview. We had no problems editing this footage as he spoke in full sentences and answered the questions fully.

8^th November 2011:

Today we are editing the Katie interview and cutaways of her toys. Katie, like Charlie, didn’t answer one of the questions in a full sentence so we had to cut the footage to make it flow. Today we also put all the interviews together on the timeline and thought about how we could link the three together and talked about what the voice over could say to link them.

10-15th November 2011:

Today we are editing the interview with our three friends and seeing if we can make the sound quality better. We found that the sound could not be helped so we didn’t add these to the timeline. We also edit the voxpops and put them on the timeline. We also readjusted the timeline so the voxpops would fit in nicely with the other footage and didn’t look out of place.

16^th November 2011:

Today we are editing the interview with the two teenage girls on the blue screen. As it is our first time using the blue screen we had help from our teacher as he taught us how to upload an image and put it in place of the blue screen using the Chroma Key on Adobe Premier.

17-24^th November 2011:

Today we are editing the cutaways that we filmed last night with Theo.  We will use these cutaways in the interview that we were editing yesterday with the two girls. Also we are making sure that the whole timeline is fitting together and deciding on what the voice over will say to link everything up. We are also making sure that the blue screen image works well and doesn’t look silly.

24^th November 2011:

Today we have started to edit together the Dec and India interview about Barbie, Ken and Action Men dolls and also use the Chroma Key to edit an image on the blue screen.

25^th November 2011:

Today we are finishing editing the Dec and India interview and also starting to edit the Rachael and Becki interviews about older games and board games. We have also used a blue screen for this so we will have to find an appropriate image to have behind the interview.

26-30^th November2011:

We are putting everything together on the timeline and working out the final script for the voice over and radio advert. We are also making sure everything flows together with transitions and make sure that there are no blank parts in our documentary.

1-9^th December 2011:

Today we got feedback from our teacher about our documentary and the feedback was to make the interviews intertwine so there are different parts of the interviews together with other parts of other interviews. We have had to make the sound and video move about the timeline without getting mixed up with other footage.

14- 16^th December 2011:

Today we are starting to edit the voice over onto the footage and make sure everything fits together on the timeline. We will also add all the titles to the interviews and credits at the start to make the piece look professional. While we are doing this we will also be editing together our Poster Advert by using our primary images and slotting them into the squares of the Rubik’s cube.
