These are the photos of our edit desicion list. We had a lot of footage to edit together as we filmed a lot of interviews and cutaways. We had some problems with some of the interviews where the people didn't answer our questions in full sentences so we had to work around this and edit the footage together so it made sense. We also added adverts of old toys as archive footage and stills.

Editing Diary
2-3rd November 2011:
Today we are editing the footage of the interview with Charlie from the Entertainer and also the cutaways of the different toys that she talked about including lego, nerf guns and dolls. We captured the footage on Adobe Premier and edited the shots together to make it flow as one piece. One problem with the interview was that she didn’t answer the questions in full sentences so we had to edit the footage so it made sense all together.
4th November 2011:
Today we are editing the footage of Luke gaming and also the interview. We will take footage of him gaming and use them as cutaways throughout the interview. We had no problems editing this footage as he spoke in full sentences and answered the questions fully.
8th November 2011:
Today we are editing the Katie interview and cutaways of her toys. Katie, like Charlie, didn’t answer one of the questions in a full sentence so we had to cut the footage to make it flow. Today we also put all the interviews together on the timeline and thought about how we could link the three together and talked about what the voice over could say to link them.
10-15th November 2011:
Today we are editing the interview with our three friends and seeing if we can make the sound quality better. We found that the sound could not be helped so we didn’t add these to the timeline. We also edit the voxpops and put them on the timeline. We also readjusted the timeline so the voxpops would fit in nicely with the other footage and didn’t look out of place.
16th November 2011:
Today we are editing the interview with the two teenage girls on the blue screen. As it is our first time using the blue screen we had help from our teacher as he taught us how to upload an image and put it in place of the blue screen using the Chroma Key on Adobe Premier.
17-24th November 2011:
Today we are editing the cutaways that we filmed last night with Theo. We will use these cutaways in the interview that we were editing yesterday with the two girls. Also we are making sure that the whole timeline is fitting together and deciding on what the voice over will say to link everything up. We are also making sure that the blue screen image works well and doesn’t look silly.
24th November 2011:
Today we have started to edit together the Dec and India interview about Barbie, Ken and Action Men dolls and also use the Chroma Key to edit an image on the blue screen.
25th November 2011:
Today we are finishing editing the Dec and India interview and also starting to edit the Rachael and Becki interviews about older games and board games. We have also used a blue screen for this so we will have to find an appropriate image to have behind the interview.
26-30th November2011:
We are putting everything together on the timeline and working out the final script for the voice over and radio advert. We are also making sure everything flows together with transitions and make sure that there are no blank parts in our documentary.
1-9th December 2011:
Today we got feedback from our teacher about our documentary and the feedback was to make the interviews intertwine so there are different parts of the interviews together with other parts of other interviews. We have had to make the sound and video move about the timeline without getting mixed up with other footage.
14- 16th December 2011:
Today we are starting to edit the voice over onto the footage and make sure everything fits together on the timeline. We will also add all the titles to the interviews and credits at the start to make the piece look professional. While we are doing this we will also be editing together our Poster Advert by using our primary images and slotting them into the squares of the Rubik’s cube.

Radio Advert
Here is our final Radio Advert:
Voice Over Script:
"Latest Documentary about toys throughout the generation"
"Sound clips from interviews"
"Friday 9th December, 8:30pm on BBC 3"
Codes and Conventions of a Radio Advert:
Radio adverts should reflect your program. It should make the audience want to watch the full documentary and should also represent what your program represents, for example our documentary is about toys so our advert should be fun make the audience think about their old toys and want to find out more about them, so they would want to watch the documentary. Like the poster advert, a Radio advert should indicate the time and date of the documentary so the audience know when to watch it.
Here is an example of a succsessful advert:

Poster Advert
This is our final poster advert for our Documentary. We have used a secondary image of a Rubik's cube and used primary images to fill the different squares.
Here we had to open an image into a seperate layer and then we used the Magic Wand tool to select the square we wanted to replace and put the square over the picture which selects it and the image is in place of the square.
Here we have added the time and date ouf our documentary and added the logo of BBC3 as this is the programme that we think our documentary should be shown on.
This is the secondary image we used as our background for our poster advert.
Here are the primary images that we used to create our poster advert. We took these photos in the toy shop "The Entertainer" after we had interviewed one of the employees.
Codes and Conventions of Poster Advert:
A poster advert should represent what your programme represents. For example, or documentary is about toys - which are fun and appeal to everyone. Therefore our poster advert should represent this. A print advert should have aspects of your programme in it, like using the same font and colour scheme that you have used throughout the show. Another convention of a poster advert is to show the time and date of when the programme will be aired to the audience know when it's on.
Examples of Poster Adverts:
This is a poster advert from Channel 4 for a program called "Disarming Britain" from this title and the image the audience can tell what to expect from the show. Also the date and time are present so the audience know when to view the programme.
This example breaks the convention of telling a time and a date of when the program will be on.
Voice Over Script
Old or young everyone has played with toys, from old board games to new technology, everyone has their favourite toy. We took to the streets to find our peoples opinions.
According to the Guardian, a survey taken in 2001 predicted that the most popular toy would be the Harry Potter Lego set. Proving that Lego is a toy for every generation. The Guardian retook their survey in 2011 and the most popular toy was the Xbox, raising the question whether new technologies have taken over the teenage generation.
Toys are generally separated into two categories, Boys and Girls.
Barbie has been around for generations, her real name is Barbra Millicent Roberts and is based on the creator’s daughter.
